Freedom and Growth
-Final chapter for this mini story-
The door opened once again and I remained still, hiding the smirk that was on my lips. A kick to my chest sent me onto my back. It hurt, but not much as he thought it did. I let out a groan and looked weakly up to him. I must be an awesome actor, because he believed everything.
He kicked my chest and left his foot there pinning me to the floor. I spat out a little blood I'd stored in my mouth, for such an opportunity. His smirk turned into a grin as he pushed down hard and leaned forward.
"You going to speak now 'Stang?" He asked. He loosens his grip and that is when I bounce. I kick him sending him to the floor. I then pin him to the floor. Pulling out the blade from my shoulder I hold it to his neck.
"Mine turn." I snarled, he looked terrified, maybe because he didn't think I'd ever have the guts to go this far. My guess he didn't think that I'd try anything because we are old friends.
"Jj.." He stuttered.
"It's Jeff to you." I corrected cutting in. "Look, I don't.. No, I can't kill you. But I can seriously injure if I need to. I'm going to leave, you aren't going to follow. And you forget about Selene."
"Jeff..."
"I know nothing. You used to trust me once." I sigh. "Why is it any different now?" He looked at me for a moment saying nothing. I took a chance and lowered the knife, holding my hands up in front of me I backed off. He slowly got to his feet, both of us watching each other. I moved back a little more, making sure to keep a safe distance.
"I'm sorry... I guess you are right. I just wanted to know.." He trailed off. Funny how now I'm almost at full health he is suddenly scared a bit.
"Look. I don't want any trouble, I'm just going to leave." I turn to leave, keeping the corner of my eye on him as I wonder to the stairs.
"I believe you..." I hear him mutter as I leave. I know that he will try again, but this time I won't be fooled. I quickly dash up the stairs, I see Mckenzie on my way and grab her arm.
"What are you..." She asks as I drag her out.
"You need to find somewhere else." I hiss.
"You left me!" She snaps pulling her arm away. "I can take care of myself...." I stare at her for a moment and then smile. My little sister has grown up into a strong, independent women.
"I can see that now, sorry." I hold my smile. "If you need anything, just call me." With that said I stagger off into the night
